A Compliment from Google

One of my favorite things to do lately is to check the Sitemeter stats for my blog. Sometimes it's fun to see how people find their way here. I know that most of my regular readers have known me at one point or another, and that's why you read. But sometimes it's funny (and sometimes it's not) to see how folks find this virtual space.

I had to chuckle at how a person from Asheville, NC found me this morning. This person did a Google search for the intellectually curious angel, and my blog was the 6th site listed.

So thank you, Google, for considering me worthy of the moniker "the intellectually curious angel." I'll take it as a compliment.

I was Googling my name the other day (I'm tired and sick, leave me alone), and comments I've left on your blog appeared in the results. :) (I also found comments other people have left each other on Myspace about me... sneaky.)

Is that reverse stalking?

You should check out technorati. You can do an advanced search, and search for posts that link to your URL. It will show you every link on the web that connects to your blog.

Pretty cool!

Intellectually curious angel is nice. I have a friend whose blog is often discovered by people seeking "Pilgrim Porn". Ugh.

Ok, so I took the liberty of searching for you. Here you go:

That's cool. Thanks Mark. It was also a warm reminder of all the prayers friends were offering up for my mother & family during her illness this past spring.

"Pilgrim Porn" is odd. That's much weirder than the phrase that's used to often find my blog -- "sleep porn." Though I can imagine, I'm not that eager to learn what either is.
